Course Description: A course in basic client
care skills utilized in the home setting. Topics include infection control,
safety, basic nutrition and home management. Emphasis on meeting client's
basic physical and psychological needs as related to developmental stage.
Development of skills related to promotion of communication and activities of
daily living. |

Learning Outcomes: The student will
demonstrate the skills necessary to provide safe, effective care in the home
setting; communicate effectively with clients/families and appropriate
resources to assist the client to maintain maximal functional independence;
explain the concepts and principles related to safety, infection control,
basic patient care and developmental stages as they impact meeting client
