Transition for the Advanced Technical Credit Program
The Texas Education Agency’s grant with Lone Star College for the Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) program will end on November 30, 2015. TEA is preparing to issue a request for proposals (RFP) to select a contractor to take over the ATC program. There may be a lapse in service as TEA transitions from a grant to a contract and the new contractor begins its work.
In the interim the following can be expected:
Part I and Part II professional development online training will be available through October 15, 2015 for FY 2016-2017
Processing of applications will continue through October 30, 2015
Certificates and reports will continue to be available through the website
The e-mail will be inactive
Full services will resume after a contractor is selected. TEA will send updates as information becomes available.

ATC gives high school students a chance to receive credit at participating community colleges across Texas for taking high school technical courses. Approved courses and their college equivalent are listed in the ATC Course Crosswalk. The participating colleges have agreed to offer students credit for these courses, provided the college offers the course and the student meets certain criteria.  The teacher of the course must meet the ATC teacher requirements, go through ATC training and teach a course enhanced to meet the content of the equivalent college course.

The Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) Program Course Crosswalk lists all the ATC courses and their college equivalents.
