ATC Approvals Frequently Asked Questions

1.    Does not being approved mean that I can't teach this course at all?

No, it does not.  Not being ATC approved means that you have not been approved to teach this course for Advanced Technical Credit.  This means that your students cannot get college credit for this course through the ATC Program.  The ATC Program is not the same as the Secondary Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) which certifies teachers in Texas to teach in public schools.  We do not approve teachers to teach high school - we only approve teachers to teach courses through the ATC Program.
